Temporary position – Assistant Consular Officer

The Consulate General of Denmark in New York is looking for the right candidate to fill a fulltime position at the Passport & Visa office. We are looking for someone to join us as soon as possible and until December 31, 2017.

Your focus areas:
At the Consulate General of Denmark in New York, you will be part of a dynamic team that handles a wide range of matters from consular assistance to Danes abroad to applications for visa and residence permits for Denmark. Your job is to ensure that important clerical functions are completed on a daily basis. You will work alongside four experienced consular officers to provide support and coordinate duties as they are assigned, such as:

  • Assist with data entry for visa and residence permit applications
  • Provide customer assistance to Danish nationals applying for passports
  • Answer inquiries about visas, residence permits, and consular issues
  • Daily clerical duties as required, which may include scanning and copying

Your competences and motivation:
We expect you to be service-minded, flexible and have an eye for detail. You need to be proficient with MircoSoft Office. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, both written and oral. Experience with consular affairs would be preferable, as well as proficiency in Danish.

You will be hired as a local employee at the Royal Danish Consulate General. Salary will be determined according to qualifications.
